Clare is a county in the Republic of Ireland, situated in the province of Munster. Clare is situated on the west coast of the island of Ireland close in proximity to the River Shannon. The main town in Clare is Ennis and the population of the county is nearly 111,000.


A key feature of the county is The Burren, a unique region that contains rare and interesting flowers and fauna. The Burren is on the western tip of the county and faces the Atlantic Ocean, at this point are the famous Cliffs of Moher. A stunningly idyllic attraction that is a visual splendour. The aforementioned River Shannon reaches into the county’s southern border and is the largest river in the island of Ireland. The river runs akin to the town of Shannon, which is also the location of Shannon Airport.


Clare also has a rich history of traditional Irish music, with such notable talents as Sharon Shannon, Micho Russell and Eoin O’Neill and has also the venue of one of top music festivals in the country- The Willie Clancy Summer School in the town of Milton Malbay.
